Precizon Toric

Model 565

Hydrophilic acrylic toric IOL designed to correct astigmatism.

  • Aspherical cylinder
  • Pupil independent
  • Proven stability

Precizon Toric is a one-piece toric IOL for in-the-bag fixation. Its unique Transitional Conic Toric lens surface sets the Precizon Toric IOL apart from other toric IOLs. This unique surface allows more tolerance when the lens is slightly misaligned.

Proven stability

Average of 3.1° rotation at 4-6 months*; 1.9° rotation reported by ‘best practice’.

Mechanical Haptic Feature

The space between the inner haptic stays open with compression down to 9 mm. This opening is designed to allow a “fibrosis anchor”. This will enhance the stability and reduce late post-op rotation of the lens.

Offset haptics reduce PCO

The Precizon family IOLs have offset shaped haptics. This shape enables the lens to adhere to the posterior capsule, to prevent early postoperative rotation and to reduce PCO.

Clinical science compendium

At Ophtec we believe that high quality scientific research and evidence is essential to provide the health care community with trustworthy knowledge and experience regarding new technology. In this sense, we are committed to generating and communicating high-quality scientific facts to the eye care professional community.

This clinical science compendium provides a consolidated view of a total of 9 studies, including: a bench study, scientific papers and presentations from international ophthalmology journals and congresses, involving the Precizon Toric  IOL and its patented Transitional Conic Toric (TCT) technology.

Greater tolerance for misalignment

The patented Transitional Conic Toric (TCT) surface blends into the aspheric surface of all meridians, leading to a broader toric surface. This keeps the toric surface in alignment with the patient’s astigmatism even when slightly misaligned. Rotation of toric IOLs has been well documented. It has been shown that for every degree of rotation off intended axis, 3% of the effect is lost. That is why the Precizon toric with its new surface makes a difference for the patient and the surgeon.

Optimal Contrast Sensitivity and Depth of Focus

Precizon Toric IOLs are aberration neutral. In a conventional spheric lens design, spherical aberration occurs because the dioptric power in the periphery of the lens is different from the dioptric power in the center of the lens (optical axis). These aberrations influence contrast sensitivity and depth of focus. Precizon Toric IOLs have an aspherical anterior side resulting in aberration-neutral IOLs.
