Artiflex Toric

Model 4A/4C

Foldable iris-fixated IOL designed for the spherical and cylindrical correction of low, moderate and high myopic eyes.

  • No postop rotation
  • Reversible treatment
  • Large optical zone

The Artiflex Toric PIOL is the latest extension of the successful Artisan concept. It combines a spherical and cylindrical correction for low, moderate and high myopic eyes. The flexibility, biocompatibility and extensive history – longer than any other foldable material – of the silicone optic enables implantation through a small incision, which results in almost no induced astigmatism as well as swift recovery for your patients. The design of the iris-fixated claws guarantees long-term stability as proven over the last 30 years.

Surgical technique

The surgical technique of the Artiflex Toric PIOL is similar to the Artiflex non-toric PIOL, except for the need to fixate the lens on a precise axis. Preoperative determination and marking of the cylinder axis is therefore essential.

Artiflex Toric PIOLs are available with a 0º or a 90º cylinder. This enables implantation of the Toric PIOL in a horizontal or slightly oblique position through a 12 o'clock incision, as well as in a more or less vertical position through a temporal incision.

The unique and versatile fixation method enables exact positioning of the PIOL in any meridian and centration on the pupil, without the risk of lens rotation or decentration.

  • One-size-fits-all
  • Small incision of 3.2 mm
  • Controlled folding and unfolding
  • Aspherical edge design
  • Optimal clearance from vital tissues
  • Long-term stability
